"Every wedding is different and I approach it from a perspective of curating a design that is as individual as each couple we have the pleasure of working with. Your story together is my inspiration and bringing that to life in flowers is my joy."
Who is Dawn
Dreamer, innovator, entrepreneur, wife, creative director, wanderer, farmer, designer, edible flower obsessed, writer, all of these things wrapped up into a woman who is dedicated to creating design without limits.
With over 25 years spent designing everything from costumes and sets for Film and TV in LA, NYC, and around the world, 2 lingerie lines distributed nationwide, commercial restaurant interior design, home interior design, landscape design and more, what Dawn brings to her clients and the wedding world is hard to quantify.
Most importantly she does everything from the heart. Her passion for wedding design and flowers, in particular, led her to leave what many would call a dream job in the entertainment industry to start her own business and immerse herself fully in the wonderful world of weddings. She literally thinks about wedding design 24/7, because it feeds her soul. It's her passion. It’s an incredible privilege to play a part in people’s weddings and a huge responsibility. You truly are making memories that last a lifetime, whether good or bad. That is what pushes Dawn to always work harder, dig deeper, do more because she wants the memories of your wedding to be ones that you treasure forever.
Dawn has worked and lived all over the United States and abroad including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, England, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Australia. She is fluent in Italian and Spanish and speaks just enough Portuguese to get in trouble. She brings this global perspective to her work, drawing on years of immersion in different cultures to create design that has nuanced depth and layers of meaning. She studied fine art in Italy and apprenticed herself to a Costume Shop in Venice while earning her Master’s Degree in Theatrical Design from NYU. She is constantly seeking inspiration that she can translate into exceptional design for your wedding. In the 3 short years since starting Tularosa Flowers, she has designed weddings and events for her treasured clients, her work has been featured on Style Me Pretty, Martha Stewart, Green Wedding Shoes, Once Wed, California Wedding Day, Wedding Chicks, Hey Wedding Lady, Inspired by This, Smashing the Glass and The Gay Wedding Guide, and created florals for the 2019 Hermes Southern California Trunk Shows. What she treasures most is the ability to constantly learn and hone her skills and talents and to bring that knowledge to enrich the events she has the privilege of being a part of.
